Philosophy
The eAdmin web interface reflects and administers
the website's dynamic content it is configured to. This may even
be a completely dynamic site! OWX actually is a generator of
lists of entries, which are the main units a user creates for the
dynamic content of the site. These units (the entries) consist of
different components.
The idea is, that one person or company will configure, design and program
another persons or company's website. The user will not see any configuration
or technical relevant things. Everything is configureable as the "customer"
wishes.
- The whole system is based on Virtualmodules (vmodules).
These are individually configured in one same
well-formatted XML config file. Each vmodule represents one list,
which may be categorized.
- The Searcher, File Manager, User Manager and Categories
modules are also figuring in the same config file. They must be
configured to work with the desired vmodules.
- User Manager which was added with v1.0.4, is database based
and allows for management of users. The users may belong to different roles,
so that access control to different parts of the site are possible. For example
one role to access eAdmin (Editor) and another for a protected, but public aera.
- File Management, which automaticly recognizes and separates
file formats into pictures and (non-picture) files.
It also requires the user to create groups to save the files into.
The groups are used to avoid too long selection lists of files
present in the database. Thus they grant easier retrieval of the
files, when attributing them to the entry.
- Categories and Subcategories may be used to separate
content of different pages (which names are reflected in the category
names). And they may be used to provide a browsing system on a
single page (i.e. for a catalog). Categories can also be disabled
when a vmodule consists of a simple list display.
- Entries are made via the comfortable, easy to learn and
comprehensible entry mask. This form like mask features a preview
component to allow checking of the entry's content before actually
publishing the entry. Category assignment and file and picture
attribution are also made via this mask.
- The enabled components can mostly be limited in number of items
(e.g. max amount of pics or links per entry). The vmodules can
have limits for the amount of entries, too.
- The fields used for non-formatted (predefined) and/or WYSIWYG-text
input are configured for each vmodule. They can have different
formats like currency, number, text etc. as well as default values.

OWXv3 is the improved version of OWXv2, where all underdevelopped
aspects were redesigned: easier and more comfortable in use; quicker
and more flexible in configuration.
